Halfmerke Primary is a non-denominational school providing education for both boys and girls from the ages of 4/5 to 12 (P1- P7). Our current roll is 213. The school shares a campus with West Mains School and Halfmerke Community Nursery. We have close relationships with both, and our inclusion policies have a positive impact on the learning of all children.
We are in a fabulous building, designed for a twenty first century education. Our school enjoys access to spacious outdoor leaning areas. It is situated close to East Kilbride Village with The Arts Centre and the Village Theatre nearby. Our proximity to the Town Centre means we can easily access the local swimming pool and library.
We have excellent grounds for both play and for learning.

We look after the boys and girls in our House groups throughout the school. We listen to them and share their ideas with Ms Hogg and Miss Byrne. We are in charge of the house points and plan the winners prize.

Our school uniform consists of grey skirt or trousers, white shirt and tie or red polo shirts and red sweatshirts.  Uniforms with our logo are provided by Baru and can be ordered via their website www.kitmykid.co.uk and selecting Halfmerke Primary.
Please note - we do not insist that children wear polo shirts or sweatshirts with the logo. Plain red items are just as acceptable.  We ask that you put your child's name on all items of clothing.
Throughout the year, we also organise pre-loved swap shops for uniform.

Values & Aims
Our Vision

Working and learning together to achieve excellence for all. At Halfmerke Primary, in partnership with the wider community, we aim to provide high quality, stimulating learning opportunities, which allow children to develop an excitement for life-long learning.  We aim to enthuse our children with a love of learning – whether learning indoors or outdoors in our fantastic grounds.  We provide a highly positive, inclusive and welcoming ethos which encourages participation of all and which values and embraces diversity. We promote strong positive relationships and foster an ethos where pupils are encouraged to respect themselves and others. We pay close attention to the care and welfare needs of all our children, their families and our staff. Our staff are happy and supportive, and they work hard to ensure that all children have access to every area of the curriculum and maximise learning opportunities.  I considerate it a privilege to be Head Teacher in Halfmerke Primary School – a school where people are at the centre of everything we do. Pupils are at the heart of our school and their learning and achievements in all areas is celebrated.  Staff have high expectations and aspirations for every one of our pupils and are committed to making a difference in their lives.
